Overview of Awana
Awana is a recognizable name for most people. For more than 60 years, Awana has been helping churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Their programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.
The exciting format for an Awana night includes large group/chapel time, small group book time, and game time.
Victory Baptist Church currently has a break down of three age groups for our Wednesday night Awana Clubs. The clubs run September through May.
Cubbies celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers (3- to 4-year-olds) by helping them develop respect for God, His Son and His Word. Cubbies learn Bible truths through music, stories, puppets, and activities.
Sparks ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. Sparks is for grades K-5 to 2nd grade.
Truth & Training
T&T engages third- through sixth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ’s grace. Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child’s knowledge about God and His Word and teach how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life.
Cost & Commitment
For Awana to be successful in training your child in the things of God, commitment and faithfulness on the part of parents is an absolute necessity. There is a cost of about $20 per child for one full year of Awana. Each child receives a personal handbook and a shirt or vest on which they can accumulate awards for their Awana achievements.
